Is Dog Daycare Right for My Pet?

Daycare isn't one-size-fits-all, and we'd never tell you it is. Some dogs come alive in a social setting, while others prefer quieter routines and smaller groups. The good news — there are clear signs that help you decide, and a trial day with us at our Franklin Square resort usually answers the rest.

Signs your dog would love daycare

  • Pulls toward other dogs on walks — in a friendly, wiggly way
  • Gets restless or destructive when left alone too long
  • Recovers quickly from new environments and noises
  • Has more energy than your schedule can keep up with
  • Loves people and seeks out attention

Signs to take it slower

Dogs recovering from surgery, dogs with intense resource-guarding, or dogs who genuinely shut down around groups may not be ready for an all-day social setting. That doesn't mean daycare is off the table forever — it usually means a different starting point, like a half-day visit or some one-on-one enrichment time first.

The trial day

We start every new dog with an evaluation day. Our team watches how your pup greets, plays, and rests, and we share honest feedback at pickup. If daycare's a great fit, we'll tell you. If a different approach would serve your dog better, we'll tell you that too.

Other options if daycare isn't the answer

Some dogs do better with one-on-one enrichment sessions, training programs, or mobile grooming visits that come to them. We offer all of the above, so we can build a routine around the dog you actually have — not a generic plan.
