Why Being Involved Matters to Us
When Andy founded Planet Pooch in 2014, the goal was simple — build the kind of place we'd want to leave our own dogs at. More than a decade later, we're still hands-on every day, and that's not a marketing line. It's how we believe pet care should be done, and it shapes every decision we make at our Franklin Square resort.
Family-run, on purpose
There's no corporate playbook here. Andy and Kathy are in the building, in the vans, and in the conversations with families. Knowing the people behind a business should mean something — especially when those people are looking after your dog.
What hands-on actually looks like
- Owners on site, not in a remote office
- Direct relationships with longtime clients and their dogs
- Real-time decisions when a dog needs something different
- A team that's coached daily, not just trained once
Why it matters for your dog
Dogs are good at reading energy. A team that's consistent, calm, and genuinely invested creates an environment dogs settle into faster. That's the difference between a stay your dog tolerates and a stay your dog actually enjoys.
Long Island is our home
We live here. We grew up here. Serving families across Nassau County and the Hamptons isn't a business plan — it's our neighborhood. We're going to keep showing up the way we always have, because that's the only way we know how to do this.
